Port of Corpus Christi customers moved 52.4 million tons of commodities through the Corpus Christi Ship Channel during the third quarter of 2026, a 3% increase over the previous third quarter of 50.9 million tons in 2025. The record third quarter remains 2024 when customers moved 53 million tons through the Corpus Christi Ship Channel. The first nine months of 2026 marked the strongest nine-month period in Port history, with customers moving 162.7 million tons of commodities, surpassing the previous record of 153.3 million tons set during the same period in 2025 by 6.1%.
Growth during the third quarter was driven by strong performance across several commodity categories. Liquefied natural gas volumes increased 46.2% to 6.6 million tons, while NGL rose 23.7% to 525,761 tons. Dry bulk commodities increased 20.9% to 2.1 million tons; other bulk liquids grew 7.8% to 4.1 million tons, and refined products increased 3.7% to 8.5 million tons compared with the third quarter of 2025.
These gains were partially offset by lower volumes in break bulk cargo, which declined 94.7% to 17,041 tons and agricultural commodities, which decreased 69% to 192,533 tons. Crude oil shipments totaled 30.4 million tons, a 2.8% decrease from the third quarter of 2025.
