Patel takes over nonprofit development group

Shailesh K. Patel is the new chairman of the Volusia County Association for Responsible Development, a nonprofit group also known as VCARD.

Patel, who grew up in Zambia, is principal and managing member of Dredging & Marine Consultants, a Port Orange-based business with additional offices in Tavares and Fort Pierce.
