Ørsted: Update from Greater Changhua – the pace is picking up offshore in Taiwan

Posted on May 23, 2026

The 920 MW Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms have achieved two important milestones:

All 66 array cables have been successfully installed and energised.

All 42 wind turbines at Greater Changhua 4 (583 MW) have now been successfully connected to Taipower’s grid and are generating electricity.

We’re continuing commissioning and grid integration works to ensure that all the complex systems of the offshore wind farms – from subsea cables to offshore substations – work together seamlessly, enabling reliable operation day in and day out.

Progress continues towards full commercial operation, bringing renewable electricity to Taiwan’s grid and supporting key industries in building a resilient, low-carbon future.
