JACKSON, Ala. – Old Lock 1 Park in Jackson, Alabama, will be temporarily closed to the public from September 8, 2026 – November 5, 2026, to accommodate scheduled dredging operations in the area.
The closure is necessary to provide a safe work environment for personnel and the public while dredging operations are conducted. During this time, visitors will not be permitted to access the park or areas affected by the closure.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this temporary closure. Visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly and avoid the park throughout the closure period.
