MORAY’S new £2.5 million dredger will be officially named during a ceremony at Buckie harbour.
MV Selkie will be officially launched by the Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire, Clare Russell.
Members of the public are invited along to witness the ceremony, which will begin just before noon with a welcome from the convener of Moray Council, Councillor Allan Wright.
The vessel was built at the nearby Macduff Shipyard facility in Buckie and is Scotland’s only council-owned dredger. As well as dredging Moray Council’s six harbours, she will also be available for dredging operations in other council areas.
