NY-NJ Ports Begin Study for Port Dredging to Accommodate Larger Vessels

The Port of New York and New Jersey is digging deeper into what’s needed to handle ultra-large container vessels by funding two studies about dredging its shipping channels to a 55-foot depth. One study would focus specifically on CMA CGM’s New York marine terminal

The board of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey last week approved $19.2 million in spending to study the next steps needed for deepening New York Harbor’s ship channels from their current 50-foot depth.
