NMDC Infra Awarded AED 288 Million Emergency Lagoon Project by TAQA Water Solutions in Abu Dhabi

NMDC Infra, a subsidiary of NMDC Group PJSC, has secured a contract valued at AED 288 million from TAQA Water Solutions Company for the construction of an emergency lagoon facility in the Abu Dhabi region.

The award forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen water infrastructure resilience and enhance emergency water management capabilities across the emirate.

Under the contract, NMDC Infra will be responsible for the engineering and construction of a 1-million-cubic-meter emergency lagoon, designed to provide critical storage capacity and operational flexibility for Abu Dhabi’s water infrastructure network.

The project scope includes the construction of the emergency lagoon and associated inlet and outlet structures, installation of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipelines, and the supply and installation of pumps, valves, and related mechanical systems required for the facility’s operation.

The development is expected to enhance the reliability and efficiency of water management infrastructure while supporting the long-term sustainability objectives of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

With a contract duration of 24 months, NMDC Infra will leverage its expertise in large-scale infrastructure delivery to execute the project in accordance with the highest engineering, safety, and quality standards.

The award further strengthens NMDC Infra’s position in the UAE’s infrastructure sector and reflects continued investment in strategic water projects aimed at supporting population growth, environmental sustainability, and the region’s future development requirements.
