At the end of September, the 2,000 m³ trailing suction hopper dredger UAB MAVİ VATAN for the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure was launched at YUTEK Shipbuilding. The vessel will be used for maintenance dredging of Turkish ports and waterways, and is the first TSHD of its kind built in Turkey. An important milestone for everyone who has worked on this vessel.
Motas engineered and supplied the dredging equipment package and is responsible for its integration. The scope includes, but is not limited to:
• Dredge pump
• Trailing suction pipe, for a dredging depth of 20 m
• Trailing pipe gantries
• Bottom doors
• Bow coupling for shore discharge
• Gate valves
• Hydraulic installation
• Dredge automation system
