Meyer Group, a major name in European shipbuilding, has bought into one of the continent’s best known naval architects.
Meyer announced today it has acquired a 50% stake in Netherlands-headquartered C-Job Naval Architects, a company which has pioneered many alternatively fuelled designs in recent years covering ammonia, methanol and fuel cells among others.
Malte Poelmann, chief technology officer at Meyer, said: “C-Job and Meyer share the common vision to make shipping sustainable in the near future.We always want to offer the best and tailor-made engineering solutions, both for newbuilds and for the transformation of the existing fleet.”
Meyer Werft has three shipyards in Papenburg, Rostock, and the Finnish city of Turku.
