Today, I had the honor of joining Congressman John Garamendi and Congressman Trent Kelly on Capitol Hill to show support for the bipartisan SHIPS for America Act.
Bolstering U.S. hashtagshipbuilding and repair capacity isn’t just an economic priority – it is a national security imperative. Our industry is the foundation of military readiness, supports thousands of skilled jobs across the country, and ensures the U.S. continues to compete globally in an increasingly complex environment. The SHIPS Act represents a major step forward in providing the long-term investment and policy certainty needed to sustain and grow this vital sector.
On behalf of the Shipbuilders Council of America and the thousands of men and women who power our shipbuilding and ship repair yards, I applaud this bipartisan effort and the leaders driving it forward. Together, we are laying the foundation to build and maintain the fleet of the future – right here at home.
