Masirah Marine has expanded its dredging fleet with the addition of Damen CSD Masirah, strengthening the company’s capacity to undertake marine construction and coastal development projects.
The cutter suction dredger is designed for demanding dredging operations and will support projects including channel dredging and land reclamation.
Cutter suction dredgers excavate material from the seabed using a rotating cutter head before transporting the dredged material through pipelines. The equipment is commonly deployed on projects requiring the removal of compacted seabed material and the movement of large quantities of sediment.
For Masirah Marine, the addition of CSD Masirah provides additional capacity for projects involving navigation channels, reclamation and coastline development.
The company described the vessel as a new asset that will strengthen its marine construction capabilities and support future dredging operations.
CSD Masirah joins the fleet as Masirah Marine continues to build its capacity for projects that require dredging and seabed modification, extending the company’s resources for both channel development and land reclamation work.
