The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore on Friday (5 November) said it is calling for nominations for the #MaritimeSGCareAward to recognise maritime personnel who have demonstrated excellence in care and support for their colleagues and customers during difficult times.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about unprecedented challenges to the global maritime industry,” it stated on a social media update.
“Yet, many maritime personnel such as port workers, seafarers, harbour craft crew and operators, pilots, marine surveyors, ship agents and shore-based personnel in the maritime community have continued to work tirelessly to enable Maritime Singapore to remain resilient and the Port of Singapore to stay open to support global trade and supply chains.”
Nominees can be shore-based personnel or seafarers of any nationality who are working for a Singapore-registered maritime company. For shore-based personnel, they must be working in Singapore.
