Seeking a vessel tailored to meet the demands of the five-year $807 million Port of Alaska Modernization Program (“PAMP”) Terminal 1 (“T1”) Replacement project and future endeavors, Manson retrofitted the derrick barge WOTAN. Enhancing the vessel’s capabilities the retrofit included modifications to the crane boom, construction of a new crane housing, installation of two Tier 3 main generators, and upgrades to interior rooms.
The WOTAN set sail to Anchorage at the end of April to get started on the first season of work for the T1 Project.
