Posted on September 6, 2023

Mace has appointed David Glennon as its new group head of digital engineering.

He joins from Riyadh-based developer Red Sea Global, where he led the firm’s digital delivery strategy.

He previously held senior digital delivery roles at Arcadis and Aecom and has more than 25 years’ experience in the construction sector, both in the UK and the Middle East.

His new role will see him take responsibility for driving forward Mace’s digital agenda and adopting new technology to boost value for clients, the company said.

Formerly head of digital for Arcadis (UK), where he was responsible for implementing the company’s digital strategy, Glennon also spent two years as director of digital project delivery with engineering giant Aecom.

For the past four years, he has also served as managing director of DoubleD.io, a digital accelerator for the built environment.

Earlier in his career, he held a number of different roles over a decade-long period spent at Lendlease, before becoming group project technologies manager at Mott MacDonald.

Glennon said he was joining Mace at a pivotal time in the adoption of technology across the industry.

“I believe my knowledge and experience of driving and embedding digital adoption across the sector will help this unique organisation grow as it continues to deliver world-class results for its clients across the globe,” he said.

Mace chief technical officer Stephen Jeffery said Glennon’s expertise would be an invaluable asset to the company and its clients.

“David brings an abundance of knowledge and experience in the adoption and implementation of technological innovation, which will undoubtedly be of significant benefit to projects, clients and colleagues across the entire Mace group,” he said. “I am thrilled to be welcoming [him] to the team at such an exciting time for the business as we drive forward the delivery of our business strategies.”
