Kudafari shore protection project reaches 52 percent progress

The shore protection project initiated in Kudafari island of Noonu atoll is progressing well.

This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Sunday.

As such, taking to social media platform ‘X’ to provide the latest updates of the Kudafari shore protection project to the public, MTCC revealed that the project has reached 52 percent progress so far.

The company recently delivered the second and final geobag shipment to the project site.

Currently ongoing at the project site are geobag filling operations.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to construct a groyne measuring 220 meters.

Further, the construction of a geobag revetment measuring 610 meters also comes under the project.

The Kudafari shore protection project is valued at MVR 17.57 million.

The project site was mobilized on 18 August 2023.

MTCC was contracted the project by the previous administration’s Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
