Kramer Group and the Port of Rotterdam Authority have signed a new ‘connection agreement’ which will connect the Kramer Distripark Depot (KDD) to the Container Exchange Route (CER).
This is a 17-kilometre closed transport road that connects several of the Maasvlakte’s ports, depots, distribution centres, and the State Inspection Terminal.
According to the Port of Rotterdam, the CER will soon be connected to all important Kramer Group terminals, including the KDD and the Rotterdam Container Terminal (RCT) and Delta Container Services (DCS).
RCT and DCS are quayside terminals on the Amazonehaven, whereas KDD is a landside terminal. Land-based and water-based containers may be transferred more effectively by connecting to the CER.
The agreement is in line with the Port Authority’s policy of promoting faster, more efficient and more secure container transport between Maasvlakte locations through the construction of the CER.
Rotterdam World Gateway (RWG), the Delta terminal of Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT) and the State Inspection Terminal are also currently connected to the CER. The Kramer Distripark Depot is scheduled to be connected to the CER in Q2 2024.
In July 2023, the number of solar arrays on major building rooftops at the Port of Rotterdam rapidly increasing.
One month later, QTerminals Group purchased a controlling position in Kramer.
