On June 4, we marked the keel laying of NB 999, a highly advanced research vessel for Inkfish. 🔬
Representatives from Inkfish, VARD, YTMC and DNV were present to celebrate this important milestone in the project. The ceremony represents a key step forward in the construction process and reflects the strong collaboration between the partners.
The vessel is of VARD 9 33 design and is custom-built for scientific exploration, making it one of the most advanced research vessels in the world. It will be 100 meters long, 20.7 meters wide, and accommodate up to 70 people, including crew and scientists.
The hull is currently under construction at Vard Shipyards Romania – Brăila, while final outfitting, commissioning, and delivery will take place at Vard Søviknes.
