In an attempt to fight water scarcity, a dredging exercise was carried out along the Karak river.
The drive was organised by Khangabok AC MLA, Okram Surjakumar in collaboration with Senior Citizen Welfare Association, Athokpam Khunou.
Three excavators were used to clean a distance of about 2 Km from Heiyellabuk to Arong river.
Joint secretary of Senior Citizen Welfare Association Athokpam Khunou, K Muhindro appreciated the MLA for his concern and initiating the dredging exercises to clean the river.
He also appealed to the public not to dispose or dump waste material into the river.
