The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Jacksonville District announces the availability of the draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment (SEA), proposed Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI), and associated appendices for public review.

The documents address proposed maintenance dredging and associated placement of dredged material from the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) Cuts M-4, M-5, M-7, M-8, M-9, M-12, M-13, and M-14, as well as Longboat Pass Cuts 2 and 3 (LP-2 and LP-3) in Manatee and Hillsborough Counties, Florida.

The Preferred Alternative involves maintenance dredging of the GIWW channel cuts (as described above) to the authorized depth of 9 feet MLLW, with an additional 2 feet of allowable overdepth. Dredged material would be placed in a dredge hole near the channel and/or in the nearshore of Egmont Key.

The Corps has prepared these documents pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, as amended, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Regulation 33 CFR 230.11.
