Italdraghe Delivers Dredger to India

Posted on June 24, 2026

A new Italdraghe dredger is now operating in India on the Hooghly River, supporting an important dredging project aimed at restoring safe and efficient navigation.

Dredging operations have already started to lower the riverbed level from 2 m to 6 m, addressing the navigability issues caused by the progressive rise of the riverbed due to the continuous deposition of sand and other materials on the riverbed.

With a dredging capacity of 3,750 m³/h and an operating depth up to 14.5 m, this dredger is designed to deliver high performance in demanding dredging conditions.

The company says that this project once again confirms its long-standing experience in the design and supply of reliable dredging solutions for inland waterways, rivers, ports and environmental maintenance projects worldwide.
