On Tuesday, April 28, the Innoptus Solar Team organized the Solar Home Run, a unique journey covering more than 200 km on public roads in Belgium. For the first time in the team’s history, this large-scale public road tour is taking place in their home country. As part of the route across Belgium, the team passed today by DEME’s headquarters. This enabled our colleagues to see the solar car, Infinite Apollo, in action during this landmark moment. The stop was carefully planned by the Innoptus Solar Team as an opportunity to practice a tire change during the journey.
While the Innoptus Solar Team regularly competes in international races, the Solar Home Run offered a rare opportunity to showcase their innovations on Belgian roads.
The tour served multiple purposes:
- To demonstrate the recent upgrades made to Infinite Apollo
- To engage with the Belgian public on sustainable mobility
- To gain valuable real-world experience ahead of the American Solar Challenge this summer
The Solar Home Run perfectly reflects the shared values of DEME and the Innoptus Solar Team: innovation, sustainability, and engineering excellence. We’d like to congratulate the entire Innoptus Solar Team for this successful and inspiring achievement!
