To optimise the chances of the successful completion of a project, contracting parties should, from the start, fully understand the requirements of a dredging project. IADC’s five-day seminar strives to provide an understanding of the basics of dredging through lectures and workshops which are given by industry experts in a classroom setting for a hands-on experience.
WHAT
Since 1993, IADC has provided a five-day-long seminar especially developed for professionals in dredging-related industries. In addition to basic dredging methods, new equipment and state-of-the-art techniques are explained through the seminar’s programme. Often realised in co-operation with local technical universities, the course has been successfully presented worldwide.
FOR WHOM
The topics addressed by the seminar make it ideal for attendees meeting the following conditions:
- (Starting) Employees of Dredging contractors,

SITE VISIT
The seminar includes a site visit.
Jameson who joined the seminar in 2023:
“The seminar has benefited me as it was very insightful, engaging and exhilarating. In significance was the site visit which has provided us with a holistic view of a major dredging and reclamation project. The icing on the cake has been the assignment on the dredging and landfill project which has enhanced my understanding on the tender and contract aspects. This has allowed all of us to work alongside and learn from one another coming from various fields. I have truly befitted from the lectures.”
IADC’S SEMINAR REVIEWED
By request of USA’s Marine Technology magazine published by SNAME, an article written by Ria van Leeuwen of IADC about the Dredging and Reclamation Seminar was published in the January 2024 issue. This article provide an overview of the seminar held in Manilla in October 2023 and give an overview of what companies can expect their employees to gain by taking the course.
Also some years ago, Lisa Maher – editor of the magazine Dredging Ports & Construction – reports on why companies should consider the IADC Seminar on Dredging and Reclamation for their employees.
