According to a decision by the People’s Committee of Ha Tinh province, two dredging projects on the Ngan Pho River are expected to be implemented in the period 2026 – 2028.
Tran Bau Ha, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, has just signed a decision announcing the list of dredging projects combined with product recovery in inland waterways under the province’s management in 2026.
The two dredging projects on the Ngan Pho River have a total length of nearly 33km.
The list includes two dredging projects on the Ngan Pho River with a total length of nearly 33km, expected to be implemented in the period 2026 – 2028, aiming to ensure standard waterway navigation, improve the capacity of inland waterway transport, and combine the recovery of dredged materials as regulated.
Specifically, the Ngàn Phố River dredging project, section 1, covers the area from Km0+00 to Km17+00, passing through the communes of Đức Minh, Tứ Mỹ, Sơn Tiến, Kim Hoa, and Hương Sơn; the Ngàn Phố River dredging project, section 2, covers the area from Km17+00 to Km32+845, passing through the communes of Hương Sơn, Sơn Giang, Sơn Hồng, and Sơn Tây.
According to the published list, the projects are expected to involve dredging channels with a width of over 20m, a depth of over 1.8m, and a minimum curvature radius of over 100m, ensuring compliance with current inland waterway technical standards.
The Provincial People’s Committee assigns the Department of Construction to take the lead and coordinate with relevant departments, agencies, and localities to implement the contents within its authority; advise the Provincial People’s Committee on organizing the implementation of subsequent procedures in accordance with Government Decree No. 57/2024/ND-CP dated May 20, 2024, and other relevant legal regulations; advise the Provincial People’s Committee on considering and deciding on each step of the project in accordance with the correct order, procedures, and authority; during the implementation process, review and propose appropriate solutions to prevent landslides and ensure the safety of structures along the route.
The Department of Construction, in coordination with relevant agencies, units, and localities, shall strictly implement the legal regulations on inland waterways regarding matters within its scope, responsibility, and authority; regularly inspect and monitor the project implementation process to ensure inland waterway traffic safety, security, and order in the area; absolutely prevent the exploitation of the project for illegal sand and gravel mining, causing resource depletion, environmental impact, riverbank erosion, and damage to related structures; and promptly review, compile, and advise competent authorities to consider adjusting and supplementing the project list as prescribed.
The Departments of Finance, Agriculture and Environment; the People’s Committees of the communes of Duc Minh, Tu My, Son Tien, Kim Hoa, Huong Son, Son Giang, Son Hong, Son Tay; and other relevant departments, agencies, and units, according to their functions, duties, and scope of management, shall proactively implement and coordinate with the Department of Construction to carry out related contents in a timely manner, in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 57/2024/ND-CP and other relevant legal regulations.
