Two great men and friends in the dredging and marine construction world. Dick Weeks, pictured on the right, and his son Rich Weeks, on the left. Together, they helped build a great company in Weeks Marine and a lasting legacy in our industry.
This past weekend, Rich’s family and friends gathered to celebrate his life at the First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon in New Jersey.
Anyone who knew Rich knew he had time for everyone, whether you were a deckhand, a captain, or the guy at the grocery store talking lobsters and fish. He treated people with kindness and respect and made everyone feel welcome.
Rich was “a man who was so big in stature but a man who never made anyone feel small.”
His father, Dick, passed away in August 2025. Remembering Rich also brings to mind the character and generosity of this great maritime family. Good people who meant so much to so many.
Rich, we salute you and the life you lived. God bless you and the Weeks family.
