First stage installs environmental containment and launches 300 cubic meters of stones per day to form the landfill of the urban park, while a private project foresees green areas, leisure, sports, underground parking, public pier, maritime transport, and a marina for up to 600 boats in the capital of Santa Catarina during the next five planned years.
The construction of the urban park and the Beira-Mar Norte Marina began on July 15, 2026, in Florianópolis, with the installation of a containment barrier in the sea. From the following day, trucks began transporting rocks to form the base of the new public area designed along the central waterfront.
According to NSC Total, on July 15, 2026, the complex will receive a private investment of approximately R$ 350 million. The project foresees about five years of construction, generating more than 2,000 jobs in the first stage and expanding leisure, sports, and social spaces.
The first major stage of the project is the riprap, a structure built with the controlled release of stones into the water mirror. The rocks will form the containment base on which part of the new landfill of Beira-Mar Norte will be developed.
The trucks are expected to transport approximately 300 cubic meters of material per day during the first months. The movement marks the physical beginning of a transformation that should advance from the water towards the future public area.
Containment curtain reduces waste dispersion
Before the stones are launched, the installation of a containment curtain in the water mirror was planned. The structure is intended to prevent foam and suspended materials from spreading across the North Bay during the work.
