The Federal Government has been advised to carry out the testing of ground water as well as dredging of the Benue and Niger rivers to avert perennial disaster and loss of lives and property.
Stakeholders on Water Sanitation and Hygiene made the call a at a conference in Ibadan to discuss issues affecting WASH sustainability in Nigeria
According to UNICEF, over 86% of Nigerians lack potable water; posing great challenges to accessibility of safe drinking water.
On the issue of flooding ravaging some parts of the country, stakeholders at the conference advised the Federal government on the way out dredge Benue and Niger Rivers.
The maiden edition of National WASH sustainability conference had the theme, “WASH achieving SDG’s through independent evaluation and mutual accountability”.
