Bob Wetta has a lifelong passion for the dredging industry, manufacturing and family business. Bob has also promoted sales for DSC worldwide with DSC equipment now working on five continents in over fifty countries. Bob was named the Western Dredging Association’s (WEDA) Dredger of the Year in 2014 in recognition to his contributions to the dredging industry. Bob served as the President of WEDA from 2011-2012. Bob also served on WEDA’s Technical Paper Committee, Nominating Committee and Sustaining Membership Committee. Bob is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO).
William “Bill” Wetta registered Professional Engineer in Mechanical Engineering, is the Senior Vice President of Product Development and CTO of DSC Dredge. With 41years in the industry, Bill completed his first dredge design project, the Billy Goat, at the age of seventeen. To date, Bill has designed or overseen design for over three hundred dredges and holds three patents for inventions used in DSC’s products: the viscous excavator, wide format swinging ladder dredge, and spud glider. Bill routinely conducts lectures and seminars on hydraulic dredging, hydraulic transport, troubleshooting and repair at the Texas A&M Dredging Engineering Short Course and various NSSGA events. In 2019, William was awarded the Barry K. Wendt Commitment Award deemed the aggregates industry’s highest and most distinguished individual award.
