Discussions on a dredging project in Capiz province have begun.
Ladt Thursday, Governor Fredenil Castro led the organizational meeting of the Inter-Agency Committee (IAC) and the Technical Working Group (TWG) at the provincial capitol.
The discussion focused on dredging and cleaning up badly silted waterways in order to reduce floods in the province. (https://bit.ly/3AI4K5f)
The guidelines for the IAC on how to carry out the project and the rules and responsibilities of the TWG were tackled during the meeting.
Priority areas for the project were also identified, a legal and enforcement team was formed, and other project-related activities were considered.
Different stakeholders, including the Department of Public Works and Highways, Provincial Engineering Office, Environment Management Bureau, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Provincial Planning Development Office, Philippine Coast Guard, and Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Capiz, joined the meeting.
