Visakhapatnam: The Marine Department of Paradip Port Authority has awarded the prestigious dredging contract to the Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL) for an amount of Rs 172.22 crore.
The contract includes dredging on approach channel, entrance channel, turning circle, docks and sand trap of PPA at an estimated cost of Rs 172.22 crore for the year 2023-24.
DCIL is a listed company in India under the consortium of four major ports authorities viz, Visakhapatnam Port, Paradip Port, Jawaharlal Nehru Port and Deendayal Port holding majority shares of 73.47 per cent. DCIL is the premier dredging organisation in the country catering to the dredging and allied services to major ports, minor ports, Indian Navy, fishing harbours and other maritime organisations by deepening and maintaining the safe navigational channel for EXIM activities.
The PPA contract is a feather on the cap of DCIL, which is aiming at a record highest ever turnover of over Rs 1,000 crore during 2023-24.
