lynyrd de wit will talk about Gel barrier – a biodegradable flexible underwater material to limit sedimentation or prevent scour. Tests are presented of an innovative non-toxic biodegradable gel formed of sediment and Xanthan Gum. The gel has sufficient strength to act as under water barrier to block incoming sedimentation and is sufficiently liquid for a safe passage of ships.
