Posted on July 6, 2022

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co. has announced that the dredge Ellis Island—which suspended dredging operations on Saturday, July 2, 2022, due to the development of Tropical Storm Colin—resumed dredging along the shoreline in Buxton at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 4, 2022.

The entire project will cover approximately 2.9 miles of shoreline from the Haulover Day Use Area to the oceanfront groin at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, and will take an estimated 40-60 days.
