Unprecedented project in the country enters a new phase after the formal transfer of responsibilities to the concessionaire, with billion-dollar investment, works scheduled to start in 2027 and a strategic connection between Santos and Guarujá planned to transform mobility on the São Paulo coast.
The project of the first immersed tunnel in Brazil, between Santos and Guarujá, has moved to a new stage after the São Paulo Government transferred to TSG Concessionária S.A. the areas and activities provided for in the concession contract.
Responsible for the implementation, operation, and maintenance of the connection, the company formally assumes obligations that are part of the Santos–Guarujá Interconnection System, although the act does not yet represent the immediate start of excavations.
With the signing of the Initial Transfer Term, the next preparation activities are released, including the continuation of projects, technical studies, and administrative procedures necessary before executing the more complex interventions.
Since the signing of the concession contract, held in January 2026, TSG has been working on the development of projects and surveys, according to the São Paulo State Investment Partnerships Secretariat.
Upon officially receiving the areas provided for in the agreement, the concessionaire also assumed the obligations established in the contract, which covers construction, operation, maintenance, and investments over 30 years.
