With its powerful offshore support tugs SL Griffin and SL Marabou, Boskalis’ subsidiary Smit Lamnalco has been operating in the Stabroek Field, offshore Guyana, for one year. During these first twelve months, a total of 156 towing operations were completed to the highest operational standards, ensuring both safety and client satisfaction.
Operating in challenging weather conditions, the tugs supported a range of highly demanding activities including static towing during oil tanker lifting operations, personnel transfers, hose handling and emergency response services.
All of these operations were carried out safely and efficiently, with teamwork, dedication, and hard work as core values held in high regard. With our current operations, we are setting the example for our additional newbuild contract signed last year, for the provision of four DP2 terminal support vessels, with the first vessel scheduled to arrive in Guyana in Q1 2028, followed by additional vessels at quarterly intervals.
We thank the entire SL Team in Guyana, both offshore and onshore for their hard work in Guyana.
