Boskalis is currently transporting a truly unique cargo aboard our semi-submersible heavy transport vessel Forte: a rocket, which recently returned to Earth after completing its mission in space. After landing in the middle of the Indian Ocean, the rocket was towed towards Christmas Island, Australia. We mobilized our Forte to receive the returned rocket.
By submerging the Forte, the 52-meter-long cargo could be positioned with precision on the vessel’s carefully prepared deck. When the seafastening was completed, the Forte set sail for the United States, where the rocket is expected to be delivered in the coming weeks.
