As a global dredging and offshore contractor and maritime services provider, we operate in numerous locations with our fleet of over 500 vessels. However, one area we haven’t been active in for some time is the west coast of the Americas. That has now changed. Because our trailing suction hopper dredger Crestway recently navigated through the Panama Canal to carry out essential maintenance dredging work in Puerto Chiapas, a key Mexican port on the Pacific Ocean.
This ‘Pacific dredging project’ addresses the issue of silt accumulation in the access channel and basins, which compromises accessibility. With our Crestway, we dredge the excess silt and ensure that the port, an important hub for agricultural exports in the region, remains accessible to cruise and container vessels.
