Boskalis recently returned an FPSO to offshore West Africa, where it has served as a floating production unit for decades and will continue to do so for years to come. Around a year ago, Boskalis disconnected the FPSO from the seabed infrastructure using the BOKA Falcon and four assisting anchor handlers, including the Manta, BOKA Expedition and BOKA Forward. The latter two vessels then towed the 403-meter-long FPSO to Dubai, where it entered dry dock for life-extension works. Once these works were completed, the FPSO was transported back to the African coast earlier this year by the BOKA Alpine and BOKA Forward. More recently, the final phase of this extensive Boskalis project was also completed successfully. While the Manta, BOKA Forward, BOKA Alpine and Princess held the FPSO in position, the BOKA Fulmar carried out the final mooring line replacement and hook up installation work for the FPSO.
This marked a magnificent finale to a remarkable project in which Boskalis Marine Services once again demonstrated its ability to deliver a fully integrated service. We would therefore like to thank our client for their trust and the pleasant collaboration. And, of course, we thank the crews of all vessels involved for their hard work and dedication.
