The harbor development project in Kamadhoo island of Baa atoll is well underway.
This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Monday.
As such, providing the latest updates of the Kamadhoo harbor development project to the public, MTCC revealed that the project has reached 78 percent completion so far.
The company revealed that the jetty construction work has been completed and the fourth shipment of rock boulders required for the project has been delivered to the project site.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct harbor dredging operations in an area measuring 30,122 cubic meters and channel dredging operations in an area spanning 5,085 cubic meters.
The project also entails the construction of a 187-meter breakwater, a revetment measuring 656 meters, a quay wall measuring 402 meters and a concrete jetty measuring 80 meters by 1.5 meters.
Further, the company will also be constructing two concrete ramps and a scour apron.
A harbor pavement measuring 1,810 square meters, navigational lights, harbor lights and mooring rings will also be installed as part of the project.
The Kamadhoo harbor development project is valued at MVR 51.4 million.
