In Episode 26, Henry Schorr, Vice President of Manson Construction Company, joins the ASBPA #ShapingShoresPodcast to reflect on a 45‑year career that helped shape the modern US dredging fleet and the beach nourishment industry.
About Mr. Schorr:
BSCE Tulane University 1979, MBA Tulane University 1990, Worked for T L James & Co and their Hopper Dredge Division, Gulf Coast Trailing Co. from 1979 until they sold to Weeks Marine in 1998 when I was Vice President and General Manager of GCT. Joined Manson Construction Co. in 1999 and worked to expand their operation to the East Coast and incorporating Beach Nourishment into their operations. Assisted in design and construction of the Hopper Dredge Glenn Edwards and subsequent design of the Cutter Robert M White and Hopper Dredge Frederick Paup (the largest Hopper Dredge in the US). As Vice President in charge of Gulf and East Coast Dredging, oversaw many Coastal Storm Risk Reduction projects including along the New Jersey Coast, Florida Coast at various locations, Texas Coastline and multiple Marsh Restoration projects in Louisiana.
