Argentina launches tender for Chubut wastewater works

Posted on May 25, 2022

Argentine waterworks agency Enohsa has launched a 1.2bn-peso (US$10mn) tender to rehabilitate and expand the wastewater treatment system in the town of Rada Tilly, Chubut province (pictured).

The works are being partly financed with a US$200mn loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The contract involves upgrading the five wastewater pumping stations serving the town in southern Argentina, as well as adding a new module to the local wastewater treatment plant and installing an irrigation system that will use the treated wastewater, documents show.

Bids will be opened on July 4. The documents can be seen here, in Spanish.

The IDB loan, which was approved last year and has US$50mn counterpart financing from the Argentine government, is intended to fund improvements in water systems in municipalities with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants.
