Having secured shareholder approval, Allup Silica (ASX:APS) will change its company name and ticker code to McLaren Minerals (ASX:MML) on or about 6 December 2024.
The junior mineral explorer says the name change is inspired by the company’s focus on the McLaren Mineral Sands Project in Western Australia, which Allup views as a “high-value titanium project”.
McLaren is an advanced-stage exploration project with an indicated and inferred resource estimate of 280 million tonnes at 4.8% heavy mineral, representing 13.5 million tonnes of in-situ heavy minerals.
The project covers 333km2 and is located on the western side of the Eucla Basin, adjacent to the Fraser Range.
This year, 65 companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange have announced they were changing their company names and ticker codes, of which 39 companies are within the mining and resources sector.
Allup Silica is focused on the future development of its heavy mineral sands and silica sands tenements located in Western Australia.
