Today, we celebrate our 900 MW Greater Changhua 1 and 2a – Taiwan’s largest operating offshore wind farms.
Located 35–60 km offshore in the Taiwan Strait, the 111 wind turbines have remained reliable through typhoons, earthquakes, heat, humidity, and rough seas – at a time when electricity demand and expectations for reliability continue to grow globally 👏
Two years in:
7+ billion kWh of green electricity generated
3.31 million tonnes of carbon emissions avoided
850,000+ hours without a single lost-time injury
Greater Changhua 1 and 2a demonstrate our ability to deliver stable, large-scale green energy with strong reliability. This is only possible thanks to our Taiwan-based operations and maintenance team of nearly 100 skilled professionals, supported by more than 20 local supply chain partners and backed by Ørsted’s 35+ years of global offshore wind experience.
