The APL Salalah is flagged in Singapore, built in 2012, and can carry approximately 10,700 TEUs. The ship is part of the SEA3 service, connecting Asia to the South American east coast, and stopped at Santos before arriving in Itajaí for a call expected to set an operational record at the Santa Catarina terminal.

The APL Salalah docked at the Port of Itajaí, in Santa Catarina, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, measuring 347.03 meters in length. The vessel became the largest ever operated by JBS Terminals since the company took over the leased area of the port in October 2024.

In addition to its size, the call was planned to exceed 3,000 container movements between loading and unloading. This forecast represents a productivity record in a single port call for the company. The arrival draws attention for its size, but the operational outcome depends on the volume handled and the ability to complete the work safely.

The APL Salalah measures 347.03 meters from end to end. The Eiffel Tower reached 330 meters in 2022 after the installation of a six-meter digital radio antenna. Thus, the difference between the two measurements is 17.03 meters.
