The developer of a $250 million logistics hub next to the Port of Charleston’s Leatherman Terminal in North Charleston has filed plans for a second warehouse at the site as construction of the first building is winding down.

Atlanta-based Capital Development Corp. is seeking environmental permitting for a 248,000-square-foot structure with office space at the 135-acre Shipyard Creek Logistics Center at Sewanee and Tellico roads.

It would join a 160,250-square-foot speculative warehouse — meaning there is no committed tenant lined up — and a container storage area at the development that’s expected to employ 200 workers when completed.
