2022 State of the Ports in Maryland

Posted on November 21, 2022

Annual update on the engines that power global business in the region

Maryland Department of Transportation Secretary Jim Ports, as well as other experts in the trade and transportation sectors, will come together December 7th to talk about the state of Maryland’s ports.

At the 13th annual State of the Ports, Secretary Jim Ports and Ports America Chesapeake Vice President Bayard Hogans will talk about what innovative new initiatives have been implemented at the ports this year to ensure that the Mid-Atlantic retains its reputation as a global business hub.

There also will be two panel discussions to dive into topics that are top of mind for business leaders who rely on the transportation and trade sectors in order to succeed. Executives from Nexterus and EMD Sales will lead a discussion about how to overcome disruptions, mitigate risk, and build resilience in supply chains.

The issue of how to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector will be addressed by leaders from CSX Transportation, Hartman Executive Advisors, the Maryland Department of Transportation, and the Netherlands Embassy.

This will be the first in-person State of the Ports event since 2019, due to COVID-19. We will celebrate our reunion with wines from several embassies during the networking reception.
