Carmeuse Lime & Stone (Carmeuse) and Yager Materials are pleased to announce that Carmeuse has acquired Yager Materials and its subsidiaries. By acquiring Yager, Carmeuse expands its presence in the construction market.
“We are very excited with this acquisition, which is consistent with our long-term strategy and vision. Yager is a well-managed company with great people,” said Yves Willems, president and CEO of Carmeuse. “It owns and operates excellent assets in an area that fits nicely with our existing network.”
Pat Yager of Yager added his insight into the transaction.
“Yager Materials has worked with Carmeuse over the past few years and looks forward to joining the Carmeuse Group. Carmeuse is a family business that fits well with our current culture and values,” Yager said. “The transaction should be a smooth transition for our employees and customers. The intent is for the Yager family members to remain involved and maintain an interest in the company.”
Based in Owensboro, Kentucky, Yager is a regional aggregate, asphalt and ready-mix producer, which has been in operation for more than 100 years. Yager operates a stone quarry in Meade County, a sand and gravel dredge business along the Ohio River, three aggregate yards, two asphalt plants, four ready mix plants, a liquid asphalt terminal, a grade and drain division, and a marine barge construction and repair division.
The Carmeuse Group is headquartered in Belgium and operates in approximately 90 locations globally.
Yager Materials will be under the North American Carmeuse Group headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, which has 30 operations and over 1,800 employees in the United States.
