The U.S. Coast Guard reports a worker who was injured in an accident off the coast of Tybee Island has died.
The worker was seriously injured before dawn on Wednesday on a vessel assigned to the Savannah Harbor Dredging operation, according to Lt. Josiah Toepfer.
The unidentified man worked for a sub-contractor on the dredging project. The Coast Guard is withholding his name until his family can be notified.
The death is under investigation by the agency, Lt. Toepfer said.
