Nearly two miles of sand have been added to West Galveston Beach!
Yesterday, Commissioner Buckingham announced a major milestone for the Continuing Authorities Program Section 204 (CAP 204) West Galveston Beach Nourishment Project.
As of November 18, 2025, 93,308 cubic yards of beach-quality sand have been added to West Galveston Beach.
Thank you to the CITY OF GALVESTON and the US Army Corps of Engineers for coordinating with the GLO on this crucial Texas coast project.
