Weeks Marine is happy to share that we will be part of the 73-acre South Brooklyn Marine Terminal (SBMT) project. SBMT will be New York’s first purpose-built offshore wind operations and maintenance facility and will support Empire Wind 1 to deliver 810 megawatts of renewable energy – enough to power almost half a million New York homes.
Our scope of work includes the rehabilitation of existing bulkheads and demolition of select bulkheads and an existing pier. We will be installing new bulkheads and a new Service Operations Vessel (SOV) wharf complete with gangways, ship fenders, and marine appurtenance. We will also be installing new stone revetment and rehabilitating existing revetment to prevent erosion.
