The Board of Directors (the “Board”) of ASL Marine Holdings Ltd. (the “Company”) refers to an incident involving fire that took place in our subsidiary’s (PT ASL Shipyard Indonesia) shipyard, in Batam, Indonesia on 15 October 2025 at or around 4.20 am GMT+7. This involves the tanker mentioned in the Company’s announcement of 25 June 2025 where the findings to the earlier incident have not been issued.
The tragic incident occurred on board a tanker that was undergoing afloat repair alongside one of the shipyard’s jetties. We are deeply saddened by the fatalities (thirteen) and injuries (eighteen) to the workers who were working onboard the tanker when the incident happened. We extended our heartfelt condolences to the families of those affected.
As one of our top priorities currently, we have been working closely with the relevant government authorities and the owner of the tanker as well as providing all necessary assistance to the affected victims and their families during this difficult time.
The safety and well-being of personnel at our work sites remain our highest priority. All work onboard the tanker has been suspended while we are still assisting the government authorities in conducting the investigation to establish the cause of the incident.
Safety has always been a core value of the Company, and concurrently we are undertaking a comprehensive review of our safety management procedures to further strengthen preventive measures to safeguard our workforce and partners.
