As a company committed to driving sustainable change, Van Oord was present at COP30 Brazil. We joined governments, NGOs, financial institutions and innovators who shared our goal. We’re happy to share our most valuable learnings:
• Cross-sector collaboration and science-based design can unlock scalable nature-based solutions that deliver both climate and community benefits.
• Finance and de-risking tools can accelerate investment in coastal protection, marine biodiversity, and community-led initiatives.
• We also participated in discussions on decarbonising the maritime sector, where Brazil demonstrated a strong commitment to this initiative.
The latest COP30 progress report underscores both momentum and urgency. 144 countries have launched National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), 67 already finalised, showing a growth in the alignment between climate ambition and national development goals. The states are also embedding adaptation deeper into policies and sectors, with broader participation and stronger inclusion.
